"How can I be saved? What does it mean to be saved? Does God really love me?"
My name is Chuck Peters. I started 714Web as a way to continue to show the homeless community of Knoxville, TN that not only does God care, but so do I. I was already doing that, but I needed money to pay my own bills and care for my family, my wife Jessica and my soon to be born twins.
This company, 714Web, has funded prison ministry, street evangelism, homeless ministry, and local churches. Through all my experiences in sharing the story of the Gospel, I come across one question, over and over again. That question is:
The answer is simple.
"30: and after he brought them out, he said, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?” 31 They said, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, you and your household.” 32 And they spoke the word of the Lord to him together with all who were in his house. 33 And he took them that very hour of the night and washed their wounds, and immediately he was baptized, he and all his household. 34 And he brought them into his house and set food before them, and rejoiced greatly, having believed in God with his whole household."
That may have been two thousand years ago, but it is my experience that great rejoicing follows conversion every time, even today. I have seen old men, young men, great men, small men, homeless and wealthy, receive a touch from Jesus, and I have seen the look on their face when they realized - "He loves ME".
Now it's your turn. He loves you, too. Very much. Being saved is as simple as believing in the story of Jesus. That he lived, died and rose again. That when he died, it was because he was crucified for the sins of the world, even your sins. He died a perfect, the only perfect, man, and died as a result of all the imperfections of every man. He died because of us, and for us, and rose again because his love for us is greater than the power of sin and death. He died so that we can live forgiven. Forgiven of what we have done, and what we will eventually do. We can choose to receive the forgiveness that was laid out as a gift to us on the cross, and therefore become sons and daughters of light, forgiven and free from the power of sin and death. We can choose to let go of the weights and burdens that pull and tug on us daily.
How? by simply telling Jesus that you receive that free gift. That you want that forgiveness. That you are who you are, and you want to take his gift of freedom and forgiveness. For everything you ever did wrong. For all time.
Now thats just the start. What's next? I don't know... That's between you and God.
